Condition:
This first edition hardcover book...
itself is in EXCELLENT condition. The binding is tight
and there is no
writing,
underlining, or high-lighting on any of the 400 pages with no tears, or
any folded pages. The only flaw is
some light superficial wear on the cover.
The hard to find Realist stereoviewer is still there and included in the pocket in the
back, and it works perfectly!
The dust jacket...
The original dust jacket that came with this copy has long since gave its life to keep the book in the excellent condition that it's still in. If you've have ever looked for one of these books before, you will know that the dust jackets are almost always trashed. This book comes with a reproduction color dust jacket that was scanned from two different covers, then were painstakingly pieced together over several hours in photoshop by my graphic artist friend. It was then professionally printed on heavy stock at my local print shop. This reproduction jacket is then enclosed within a Mylar cover to insure that it will look awesome for generations to come.
About the book:
This is the best written source for anyone who wants to learn how, or anyone who wants to
learn how to better take 3D photographs. While it is made with references to the Realist
camera, all of the information contained can be used with any 3D camera - from the early
1900 stereo folding cameras, to any of the 1950s stereo cameras, to the new digital stereo
cameras now available. It is illustrated throughout with 3D stereo photos that can be seen
with the included viewer.
It is written by Willard D. Morgan, Henry M. Lester, as well as 14 other leading 3D
experts of that time period. As an avid 3D photographer myself, I wouldn't be caught
without my copy. Somehow over the years, I ended up with a few extra copies which I want to pass on to
help someone else who can discover the joy of 3D photography as I have done.
I have used this book as my handbook for anything I need pertaining to 3D photography.
