    Description

Offered here is an 1828 Half Cent, a coin with 12 Stars on the obverse.  C-2 as to Cohen Variety attribution book.  The obverse is completely original, as a nice coin should be.  The reverse has a rather large "strike through" area above HALF.  Obviously, there was something on the planchet during the striking process leaving a "void" above HALF.  This was caused during the minting process, NOT damage after leaving the mint.  Interesting to error and variety collectors.  Thank you for considering this nice coin.
